This is the third one I have purchased. I miss the spiral cord that extends when the camera is turned vertically. The new design has a straight cord with a connector in the middle. Not sure what this accomplishes since now the cord tends to get in the way because of its length. They haven't solved the problem of the connector housing cracking and breaking where it attaches to the camera body. This is why I am on my third one. The other issue is just an annoyance. The shutter release loosens as you use it and turns back and forth (left and right). To tighten it back up requires two screwdrivers or two pennies (which fit better in my pocket). However, since it fits my Alzo flash bracket, I will continue to purchase them til the bracket wears out.
Having your flash higher above the camera is definitely "next level". The lighting looks so much more natural. I tried mine using a Rogue Flashbender for when the ceilings are high and a Gary Fong Lighsphere for when they are low. Both modifiers performed even better because I could get the flash above the camera. I like being able to flip the camera and still have the camera and light source in the same orientation—it takes a little getting used to. I use the bracket on the right side since I purchased the trigger. I like that I can adjust the position of the trigger. Having it at an angle toward my finger makes it even more comfortable. Make sure you turn off Back Focusing if you use this trigger or you'll wonder why the AF doesn't work. Also use single focus, I found it irritating when my focus would stray while using the trigger button. When your hand is on your normal grip, you have a different feel and it works better for you that way.
I only have tested it when i got it last week or so. it do fit the flip flash bracket nicely and it's a must if you buy this bracket. it takes a while to get use to, on focusing. Pressing it the right amount of pressure to focus and to shoot. I cant write more to that effect until i use it in actual shoot.
