The ALZO Transformer DSLR Rig is a bracket designed for supporting a DSLR camera and all of the auxiliary equipment required for professional video capture. This device easily mounts to a video tripod or a 15mm rail system while allowing for unobstructed battery compartment access. Why is unobstructed battery access so important? When a DSLR is mounted to the bracket with a full complement of accessories like audio recorders, mixers, mics or other stuff, changing the battery should not require disassembling or unplugging cords. 9 mounting holes in the top bar provide many mounting options for optimal versatility. The end shoe mounts can be removed for mounting devices with 1/4 inch x 20 screw mounts; two comfortable hand grips offer secure handling and stability for hand-held shooting.

This rig can also be used with small camcorders as shown in the image below.  It is best to mount the camcorder with the rig reversed so that the camcorder is positioned on the right side, allowing an unimpeded swing of the LCD display.
