ALZO Joyous Light full spectrum light bulb

ALZO full spectrum light bulbs are sold under the registered trademark brand "Joyous Light".

Full spectrum lighting refers to light or light bulbs that cover the entire electromagnetic spectrum from low infrared to ultraviolet and above. ALZO Joyous Light CFL (Compact Fluorescent Light) bulbs replicate sunlight and are daylight balanced with a color temperature of 5,500 Kelvin, and a CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 91. The light produced by these bulbs is brilliant pure white and renders colors beautifully and accurately. In addition, ALZO Joyous Light bulbs are commonly used for the treatment of SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder, also known as winter blues.

ALZO Joyous Light full spectrum light bulbs are available in 4 different intensities: 15 watt, 27 watt, 45 watt and 85 watt. All ALZO bulbs fit common medium-base E26/E27 sockets. These bulbs are larger than standard incandescent light bulbs, and will most likely require larger lamp harps when installed in table lamps and floor fixtures. ALZO offers different sizes of lamp harps.

Seasonal Affective Disorder S.A.D.

ALZO Joyous Light full spectrum lights are commonly used to treat S.A.D., or Seasonal Affective Disorder, aka Winter Blues. S.A.D. is a medical condition created by the lack of light that occurs during winter months, particularly in northern areas. People affected by SAD benefit from the expose to full spectrum lighting on a regular basis, and this is a proven method to help treat S.A.D. The pioneer of research in this field is Dr. Norman Rosenthal, the author of the book "Winter Blues."
