Use this adapter cord to connect stereo microphones with 3.5 mm TRS plugs to pro camcorder XLR inputs. There are many quality, yet low-cost stereo microphones available and this adapter cord allows these mics to be used with camcorders with XLR audio inputs. A solidly molded cord with reliable, professional strain relief on each connector. Not for use with phantom power.

Q: I bought a TASCAM DR-40 with XLR mic inputs. I have a Sony lapel mic and it has a 3.5 mm connector. I am wondering if the ALZO Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord for Pro Camcorders will work for this combination.
A: The ALZO Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord for Pro Camcorders will allow for the connection of your SONY lapel mic to the TASCAM, but I cannot assure proper operation as I do not know if the SONY mic requires phantom power. If the mic is a dynamic or electret and does not require phantom power, it will most likely work with this combination. If the mic requires phantom power it may not work. In addition, a mono mic connected with the ALZO Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord for Pro Camcorders will record to only 1 channel, not both right and left. FYI, the ZOOM recorders H4N, H5 and H6 all have 3.5 mm mic inputs in addition to the XRL mic inputs.
